Launch Canada 2026 Countdown

Our Mission

Our mission is to design, build, and successfully launch a Level 3 high-powered rocket at Launch Canada 2026. As a multidisciplinary team of engineering students, we push the boundaries of student rocketry through innovation, precision manufacturing, and hands-on design. Beyond achieving flight, we foster collaboration, develop practical engineering skills, and prove we can take ideas from concept to launch—while helping put Algonquin College on the map for STEM and building a lasting foundation for campus innovation.

What We’re Building

Design & Manufacturing

Composite airframe, structures, and precision-machined components, built in-house with rigorous DFM and test-early philosophy.

Avionics & Recovery

Redundant flight computers with integrated telemetry and DAQ; dual-deploy recovery engineered for reliability and precise data.

Team & Culture

Cross-disciplinary collaboration, documentation, safety, and mentorship—creating opportunities for future engineers.

In the Lab

From machining and wiring to rigorous testing, your support enables tangible proof of progress from our shop to the launch pad.

CNC machining a part
Inspection and metrology
Avionics bench and soldering
Mill setup and planning
Turning operation on lathe
Telemetry and DAQ debugging

Road to Launch Canada 2026

  1. Now → Fall Subsystem design freeze, material selection, manufacturing kickoff, avionics prototypes.
  2. Winter Airframe manufacturing, avionics bring-up, recovery testing, integration reviews.
  3. Spring Full integration, ground checks, telemetry validation, flight readiness review.
  4. Summer 2026 Competition campaign & Level-3 launch attempt at Launch Canada.
